Last year, Google unveiled Project Brillo, with Weave, to start supporting its own push into the Internet of Things. And now the company is back with another major push for the IoT frontier. To start, the company is launching a Developer Preview for Android Things, which will allow developers to build smart devices that can more easily connect to a variety of different Google services: Google has also confirmed that it is updating the Weave platform in a big way as well. To start, with Weave, developers will be able to interact with Google services more easily, including Google’s Assistant. Google also noted that the updated Weave means that more companies can build products to support Google’s IoT’s efforts. That includes upcoming support from First Alert, WeMo, Belkin, Honeywell, Wink, TP-Link, and others. Is your home filled with smart devices?
