At an event in New Delhi today, Google launched the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in the country. The new Nexus handsets will go up for pre-order on two different ecommerce portals from today. They will also make their way to major retail stores from later this month.

Google did not provide any ETA on the shipping time, but it is likely that the handsets will ship on or around October 22. On the other hand, the Huawei-made Nexus 6P will be available exclusively through Flipkart, and will go up for pre-order later today. The handset will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage options and in two colors: graphite and aluminium. The 32GB variant has been priced at Rs. 40,000, while the 64GB has been priced at Rs. 44,999. The Nexus 5X is the spiritual successor to the massively popular Nexus 5 released in 2013. The handset comes with a 5.2-inch screen, a Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB RAM, and a 2,700mAh battery. The Nexus 6P is the successor to last year’s Nexus 6, and is easily the best Nexus handset ever released from Google. The handset has been made from aero-grade aluminium, and features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM, and a 3, 450mAh battery. Both Nexus handsets also come with a touch-based fingerprint Scanner located at their rear and a 12.3MP rear shooter with 1.55u pixel size and F/2.0 aperture. Both handsets also run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow that focuses on the core functionalities of the OS. Some of the new features present in the OS include an app permission manager, Doze and App standby for better battery life, Now on Tap, and improved voice interactions.
