Google today introduced “MODE”, a new “snap-and-swap” watch band that it has created in partnership with b&nd by Hadley Roma.

Compatible with the majority of Android Wear smartwatches out there, MODE watch bands feature a slide button that makes it possible to detach them from the watch in one click. Using a similar method, you can also install new MODE watch bands on your Android Wear smartwatch without any hassle. Google will be offering MODE watch bands in four different widths (16mm to 22m), and they will be available in a bunch of different colors, and two different materials: leather and silicone. The MODE watch bands are compatible with the 2nd generation Moto 360, Huawei Watch, Asus ZenWatch Gen 1 & 2, LG G Watch, G Watch R and Watch Urbane, and Samsung Gear Live.

Google also wants third-party accessory makers to create MODE watch bands. So it will be sharing the design mechanism and source with them. You can find more information about this over at Google’s announcement page.
