In its 3 hour long I/O keynote yesterday, Google announced a partnership with Samsung to bring the latter’s KNOX technology suite to enterprise customers with the next version of Android.  Google will be integrating a part of Samsung’s KNOX in Android L to bring a host of new features for enterprise and IT administrators. This includes the ability to deploy apps in bulk and underlying data separation for apps for different work and home profiles without any modification required from developers and more. Samsung’s KNOX has already been certified by many of the key security initiatives from the US, U.K. Governments and the Department of Defense (DoD) making it extremely popular among enterprise users. Therefore, it makes sense for Google to enter into a partnership with Samsung and use its enterprise security suite rather than developing its own and fragmenting the market.
